Bleed is an extra 3mm of background beyond the edge of your design, so there's no white line if the cut lands slightly out. The safe area is 3mm inside the edge: keep text and logos within it so nothing gets trimmed.
A few products, such as flags and hemmed banners, need more. The template for each size shows exactly where everything goes. If your file has no bleed, we'll spot it in our check and get in touch.

Aluminium composite is a common choice for permanent signs: shop fascias, car park and site signs, door and gate signs, opening hours and property boards. It's two thin sheets of aluminium either side of a plastic core, so it stays flat and rigid without being heavy.
Choose a paper size from A4 to A0, an inch size from 30 × 20 up to 60 × 40, or enter your own measurements. Corners can be square or rounded, and you can have holes drilled for screwing the sign to a wall, post or fence.
Use the template for your size. If you've chosen drilled holes, they sit close to the edges, so keep text and logos away from the corners and edges where the holes will go.
With rounded corners, keep anything important clear of the corners too. A sign is read from further away than you think, so keep text large.
