A PDF is best. We also take JPG and PNG images, photos straight from your phone (including iPhone photos) and Word documents (.docx). If you design in Canva, download it as “PDF Print”.
Bleed is an extra 3mm of background beyond the edge of your design, so there's no white line if the cut lands slightly out. The safe area is 3mm inside the edge: keep text and logos within it so nothing gets trimmed.
A few products, such as flags and hemmed banners, need more. The template for each size shows exactly where everything goes. If your file has no bleed, we'll spot it in our check and get in touch.

Perfect binding is how most paperbacks are made. The pages are glued into a square spine and a card cover wraps around them, then the book is trimmed flat. It suits anything too thick to staple: catalogues, brochures, reports, magazines, novels, cookbooks and annuals.
Pick the inside paper by feel. Silk and gloss are smooth and show off photos well; uncoated is natural and easy to write on. Lighter weights such as 90gsm or 115gsm keep a long book slim, while 150gsm or 170gsm feel more substantial. The cover is 250gsm or 350gsm silk, or 250gsm uncoated.
Bind along the long edge for a standard portrait book, or the short edge for landscape. A silk cover can be laminated in matt, gloss or soft touch, and once laminated it can have raised spot UV, gold foil or silver foil on the outside.
Send the inside pages as one PDF, in reading order, one page per page, using the template for your size. Keep text further from the spine than from the outer edges, because a glued spine doesn't open fully flat.
Send the cover as a separate file, laid out as one spread: back cover, spine and front cover. The spine width depends on your page count and paper, so we'll confirm it with you before you finalise the cover.
